Xcel Energy Sherco Solar Project 21-189

Northern States Power Company, doing business as Xcel Energy is proposing to construct an up to 460-megawatt solar project and two 345 kilovolt transmission lines to interconnect the Solar Project to the\r\ngrid. As proposed, the West high voltage transmission line (HVTL) is approximately 3.2 miles long and the East HVTL line is approximately 1.7 miles long; both HVTL lines connect the Solar Project to the existing\r\nSherburne County Substation. The Solar Project will partially replace energy production of the Sherco Generating Plant Unit 2, currently a coal-powered facility, which will cease operations in 2023.

Pine Bend Pipeline Project 20-872

Petroleum Fuels Company (PFC) is proposing to construct a 5,600 foot long natural gas pipeline in Dakota County. The pipeline will transport natural gas from a processing facility near the Pine Bend landfill to an interconnection with the Northern States Power gas system.

Red Rock Solar Project 19-620

Red Rock Solar, LLC, a subsidiary of Apex Clean Energy, LLC, has proposed to construct and operate the Red Rock Solar Project in Cottonwood County, Minnesota. The proposed Red Rock Solar Project would generate up to 60 megawatts (MWs), and the anticipated project size is 483 acres.

Big Bend Wind 161 kV Transmission Line 19-621

Big Bend Wind, LLC has proposed the construction and operation of an 18 mile long 161 kilovolt (kV) high voltage transmission line (HVTL) to be located in Cottonwood, Martin, and Watonwan Counties, Minnesota. The proposed 161 kV HVTL is proposed to begin at the Big Bend Wind Project substation, and extend 18 miles to a proposed step-up substation to be located less than 1,500 feet of the Crandell Switching Station.

Big Bend Wind, LLC, a subsidiary of Apex Clean Energy, Inc., is proposing the Big Bend Wind Project located within portions of Cottonwood and Watonwan counties, Minnesota. Plum Creek Wind Farm, LLC proposes to construct a 414 megawatt (MW) wind farm and associated transmission line in Cottonwood, Murray, and Redwood County, Minnesota. The transmission line is proposed to be a 345 kilovolt (kV) line, with a length of approximately 31 miles.

Three Waters Wind Farm 19-576

Three Waters Wind Farm, LLC is proposing the 201 MW Three Waters Wind Farm in Jackson County, Minnesota. The proposed project area also extends into Osceola and Dickinson Counties, Iowa. The proposed project is primarily planned to be located within Jackson County, Minnesota, but project areas within Osceola and/or Dickinson Counties, Iowa may be utilized as alternative locations should they be necessary. Three Waters Wind Farm, LLC has also applied for a Certificate of Need (CN), which can be found under docket #IP-7002/CN-19-154.

Elk Creek Solar Project 19-495

On September 16, 2019, Geronimo Energy submitted a site permit application to the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (Commission) under the alternative review process (Minnesota Statute 216E.04; Minnesota Rule 7850.2800-3900). Geronimo Energy proposes to construct the Elk Creek Solar Project (Project), a solar energy conversion facility with an 80-megawatt (MW) alternating current (AC) nameplate capacity, in Vienna Township, Rock County, Minnesota.

Enbridge Energy, Limited Partnership: Fond du Lac Line 4 Project 18-752

Enbridge Energy, Limited Partnership has applied for a Pipeline Route Permit and Partial Exemption for the Fond du Lac Line 4 Project on the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Reservation. The Project will relocate approximately 10 miles of the existing Line 4 pipeline from the center to the outer edge of the existing Enbridge Mainline Corridor within the Fond du Lac Band Reservation.
