Elm Creek II Wind Project

Heartland Wind, LLC (Heartland Wind), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Iberdrola Renewables, Inc., has submitted an application to the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission for a site permit to construct and operate the Elm Creek II Wind Project (Project). The proposed Project is a Large Wind Energy Conversion System, as defined in the Wind Siting Act, Minnesota Statutes Chapter 216F. The Project is located in Jackson and Martin counties and will be up to 150 MW in nameplate capacity, consisting of up to 100 wind turbine generators.

Associated Project facilities include gravel access roads, a wind electrical collection system, an Operations and Maintenance building, permanent meteorological towers, and a Sonic Detection and Ranging (SODAR) unit. The Project is expected to come online as early as autumn 2010.
