Project Details
Xcel Energy is proposing a project in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, to replace approximately 2 miles of an existing 115 kV transmission line with a new double-circuit 115/115 kV line, primarily within the existing easement. The project also includes modifications to the Inver Grove, Inver Hills, and UMore Park substations. One circuit will maintain the existing connection between the Inver Grove and Inver Hills substations, while the second circuit will connect the Inver Hills Substation to Xcel Energy’s existing 5580 line and provide power to the UMore Park Substatio

Project Summary
Xcel Energy’s Project will replace approximately 2 miles of the existing 115 kV single-circuit Line 5507 in Dakota County with a new 115/115 kV double-circuit transmission line and modify the Inver Grove, Inver Hills, and UMore Park substations. The new line will largely remain within the existing 75-foot-wide easement and follow the existing Line 5507 corridor between the Inver Grove and Inver Hills substations. Because of constraints near the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way, structures 5507-21 and 5507-22 will be relocated to the west side of the railroad. The route begins at the Inver Grove Substation, crosses existing railroad infrastructure, and ends at the Inver Hills Substation north of the Pine Bend Refinery. Most of the Project will parallel existing transmission or railroad infrastructure. The Proposed Route is generally centered on the existing Line 5507 corridor and has a 200-foot-wide route width.
