Minnesota Power proposes to construct and operate an up to 85-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic (PV) solar energy generating facility, a 2.45 mile 230 kilovolt (kV) transmission line (Gen-Tie Line) and associated infrastructure, known as the Boswell Solar (Project). The proposed Project will be partially located in the City of Cohasset, partially within Deer Lake township, and partially within the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Reservation in Itasca County, Minnesota. The Project Area is approximately 1,344 acres in size, and the Gen-Tie Line route is 124.3 acres. Of the site area, 498.6 acres will be occupied by the solar panels and associated infrastructure.
